&lt;h3&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Greetings EYC&lt;/strong&gt;!&lt;/h3&gt;
&lt;p&gt;S0,&amp;nbsp;last&amp;nbsp;Sunday
 was our first ever purely frivolous just for fun arcade outing to FUN 
DEPOT. One that was more easily justified after the time, effort and 
focus that was put into the acolyte training Sunday afternoon. Thanks to
 all of our acolytes for your service and to &lt;strong&gt;Gaelyn Evangreen&lt;/strong&gt; for&amp;nbsp;the excellent&amp;nbsp;leadership with the acolytes and &lt;strong&gt;Scott Hart&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;John Raines&lt;/strong&gt; for volunteering their time to assist with the training.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h3&gt;Next up...&lt;/h3&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Wednesday September 1st&lt;/strong&gt; we are back into the rhythm of our monthly &lt;strong&gt;parish dinners&lt;/strong&gt;. This month is a &lt;strong&gt;"Build your own Burrito"&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;.
 Dinner starts at 6:15. &amp;nbsp;We will have the basics (tortillas, meat, 
cheese and rice)&amp;nbsp; You bring your FAVORITE toppings to add and share. EYC
 are invited to help with the pinata game that will take place for the 
Elementary school kids and to lead out on some field games afterwards.&amp;nbsp; &lt;u&gt;&lt;em&gt;We are also looking for a few youth and families who can stay to help with clean up after the event&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/u&gt;. ( Yes, this can count for Community Service hours if needed).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;h3&gt;Sunday September 5th&lt;/h3&gt;
&lt;p&gt;We have a special Sunday School program planned during the 10:10 Christian Ed. Hour.&amp;nbsp; Todd Donatelli will be spotlighting CAMP HENRY and has invited EYC members to kick off the morning in the parish hall together by sharing their reflections from camp.&amp;nbsp; Please give a shout my way if you are willing to step up to the plate and&amp;nbsp;share a story of reflection&amp;nbsp;on&amp;nbsp;Camp Henry.&amp;nbsp;
 Camp Henry has offered so much to so many of us and this is our chance 
to tell others from our church family just how much it means. 
AND...whether you plan to speak or not you can show your support by 
sporting your favorite &lt;u&gt;Camp Henry T- Shirt&lt;/u&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;There is no 
evening event planned this &lt;strong&gt;Labor Day Weekend&lt;/strong&gt;. If you are in 6th -12th 
grade I hope that you are gearing up to attend the Beginning in the Middle Conference that will be taking place at Valle Crucis September 17-19th. Cost for the event is 90$
 if registrations are received before the September 6th deadline. There 
are also Diocesan and Cathedral scholarships available that can assist 
with up to 2/3rds of the expense so please do not let finances keep you 
from enjoying an AWESOME weekend retreat.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Wow! Splash 
was such a blast! And I've heard good things about the family picnic as 
well for those of you who were able to attend.&amp;nbsp; This Sunday promises to 
be another romp of fun time for EYC&amp;nbsp;on our first ever FUN DEPOT outing.&amp;nbsp;
 My hope is that this will be a bit of a celebration and reward for 
those of you who have decided to commit to serving in a leadership role 
during worship.&amp;nbsp; So here's the&amp;nbsp;scoop for 8.29...&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;10:10&lt;/strong&gt; Sunday School&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;&lt;strong&gt;12:45&lt;/strong&gt; L.E.M training &amp;amp; 
Lunch&amp;nbsp;for all of our Acolytes, Readers, Greeters, Ushers ( and those who

        <rss:description>Looks like Mother Nature is having her own EARTH DAY with the April Showers.  It is highly likely that the amount of rain predicted in the next 24 hours will put quite a damper on our outdoor project list for the shelter.  Our back up plan will be to meet for a movie at the Asheville Pizza Company at 3:15pm.</rss:description>

          They are showing&lt;strong&gt; AVATAR&lt;/strong&gt; which has a strong 
"Care of Creation" theme through out the film.&amp;nbsp; Tickets are only $3.50 
and it is optional to bring extra money for food and drinks.&amp;nbsp;The show 
will most likely sell out, but&amp;nbsp;&lt;u&gt;&lt;em&gt;I am 
willing to go early and reserve 10 tickets for our group that&amp;nbsp;will go to
 the first EYC members who contact me to RSVP.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/u&gt;&amp;nbsp; Leave a voice mail or email if you are interested in the
 movie.

school mission trip youth did an excellent job hosting their parents and
 sponsors at last Sundays dinner presentation.&amp;nbsp; Thanks especially to &lt;em&gt;Andrew Fairbanks&lt;/em&gt;, &lt;em&gt;Anne Worth&lt;/em&gt; and &lt;em&gt;Brendan Smith&lt;/em&gt; for sharing during the presentation. And again to &lt;strong&gt;Bill Doyle&lt;/strong&gt; ( adult mission trip chaperon extraordinaire) and to all our sponsors that supported our trip with their prayers and finances!&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;This weekend is the middle school conference mid Beginning dle at Valle Crucis.&amp;nbsp; Our prayers go with our participants; Katie Krupnick, Andrew Faibanks &amp;amp; Nicolas Konz. Our highschool leadership team members Annie Starr Teel and Jackson Krupnick and our adult sponsors Katie Miller and Franklin Sorrels!&amp;nbsp; The All Souls van leaves from the Cathedral at 3&lt;u&gt;:45pm Friday&lt;/u&gt; and returns 3pm Sunday.&amp;nbsp; &lt;em&gt;There are a few spots lefts so be in touch ASAP if you have any interest!&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;9am:&amp;nbsp; Blessing of Sunday School Teacher during worship and&lt;/strong&gt; all youth and school aged children are also invited to join in for a &lt;strong&gt;"Blessing of the Backpacks" &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;So remember to bring your back pack to worship with you this&amp;nbsp;Sunday.&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;em&gt;10:10 am&amp;nbsp; 1st&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;Sunday
 School Gathering!&amp;nbsp; All 6th-12 grade EYC are invited to "The Upper Room"
 in the Warner Building for an informal coffee house.&lt;/strong&gt; Come meet the teachers, share a bit about your summer, have some donuts or bagels and get the scoop on our upcoming events!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;12:30 pm&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp; OUR ALL SOULS GROUP leaves from the Cathedral to attend &lt;strong&gt;SPLASH&lt;/strong&gt;! The diocesan wide EYC kickoff event that takes place at Camp Rockmont.&amp;nbsp; So far I have spaces reserved for: &lt;em&gt;Anne Worth, Ethan Heilig, Austen Metcaff, Jon Krupnick, Katie Krupnick, Pierce Assad, &amp;amp; John Norlin.&lt;/em&gt;&amp;nbsp;And our Youth Council members Jamacia Reece and Leah Donatelli.&amp;nbsp;We still have room for 4 in the van and a parent car pool can be arranged if I hear from you &lt;u&gt;by Saturday at noon.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Our estimated return time to All Souls is 5:30pm.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;COST &lt;/strong&gt;For the Splash Event is 15$ and includes Lunch.&amp;nbsp;You can bring &lt;u&gt;your money&lt;/u&gt; on the day of the event.&amp;nbsp;All Souls Youth are asked to bring &lt;u&gt;Chips and or Cookies&lt;/u&gt; to contribute. Also, it is best to just wear your &lt;u&gt;swim gear&lt;/u&gt; under regular clothes so that you are ready to &lt;strong&gt;SPLASH&lt;/strong&gt; !! Hope you are able to join us for a day of fun at beautiful&amp;nbsp;Lake Eden&amp;nbsp;with full access to&lt;strong&gt; the Water Tramp, Zip line, Canoes, the Gully Washer, and THE BLOB and Fellowship w some super cool youth from all over the WNC&amp;nbsp;Episcopal Diocese! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

        <rss:description>This Sunday is our chance to "GREEN UP THE SCENE"  at the ABCCM women and Children's shelter. </rss:description>

          In addition to setting up a recycling area we will 
also be making some upgrades to the playground and picnic areas.&amp;nbsp; There 
is much to be done in the way of planting, raking, painting, mulching 
etc. so please invite any parents or mentors who may be able to pitch 
in.&amp;nbsp; Dress for the occasion... "Grungy Duds" and bring any extra gloves,
 leaf rakes, hand shovels, if you've got them.&amp;nbsp; We are also in need of a
 wheel barrow and a few flat shovels as well. We will be rolling up our 
sleeves and getting down to business at &lt;strong&gt;3pm&lt;/strong&gt;.&amp;nbsp;
 &lt;strong&gt;Meet at the shelter located at 141 Hillside street and plan to 
stay till about 6pm&lt;/strong&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Lemon aide and snacks will be made 
available. Hope to see you there!&amp;nbsp; ( In case of rain... we will 
reschedule for June 6th)&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; HAPPY

 for five hours of eating, singing and gift sharing.&amp;nbsp; We are currently 
recruiting a few extra parent&amp;nbsp; or mentors to serve as drivers and 
welcome contributions of additional appetizers or baked goods that we

&lt;div&gt;The scoop for &lt;strong&gt;February 28th EYC&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;is Sunday School at 10:10am and evening program / "Chillin at the Church"&amp;nbsp;&lt;strong&gt;4-6:30ish.&lt;/strong&gt;
The plan is to have a short Lenten focus / devotion, an art project and
a simple meal together.&amp;nbsp; Please&amp;nbsp;let me know by Sunday morning if you
are able to attend so we can plan to have&amp;nbsp;enough in the way of art
supplies and food.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;u&gt;I am also looking for&amp;nbsp;few parents or mentors who&amp;nbsp;might volunteer to bring salad&amp;nbsp;or to help with a "potato bar". &lt;/u&gt;Hope to see you soon.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;We've
 got sooooo much to be thankful for! One&amp;nbsp;"Thanks to Give"&amp;nbsp;is simply in 
having ENOUGH...More than Enough... and Enough to SHARE!&amp;nbsp;And because of 
that GRATITUDE&amp;nbsp;is going to be&amp;nbsp;the focus for this Sundays EYC, Sharing&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;and Caring Service Adventure.&amp;nbsp; H&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;ere is how you can participate:&amp;nbsp; Take some time on Saturday to do a quick inventory&amp;nbsp;of
 your&amp;nbsp;clothes, shoes, coats and anything that is no longer serving you 
and put it in a box to bring to church so it can serve some one new!&amp;nbsp; 
Items can be brought to church on Sunday morning and put in my office or
 brought to our&amp;nbsp;afternoon gathering.&amp;nbsp; Our donations will be going to the
 Emma Resource Center in Asheville to be used for low income families 
that&amp;nbsp;are in need.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp; &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;At 3pm
 we will leave from All&amp;nbsp;Souls for&amp;nbsp;a service outing that will either 
involve&amp;nbsp; a visit to the&amp;nbsp;E&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;strong&gt;mma Resourse&amp;nbsp;center to sort and hang the 
clothing items OR a visit to the Good Will Sorting Center to search for 
additional warm coats and jackets. &lt;u&gt;Bring 5$&lt;/u&gt; and we will wrap things up w Burritos at MOE's.&amp;nbsp; Pick up is at 5:15pm from MOE's in Biltmore Village.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;Older Senior High (2009 pilgrimage&amp;nbsp;group ) are&amp;nbsp;invited to Moes 5:30-630pm. ( My treat &lt;u&gt;w a RSVP 777-0949&lt;/u&gt;)&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt; &lt;strong&gt;Reminder: This Sunday Morning is a COMMUNITY BREAKFAST so there is no Sunday School. Hope to see you in the Parish Hall! &lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

during the 10:10am Sunday school hour September / October&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Winter 2012 RADIX Confirmation Retreat
at Kanuga (typically last weekend of January)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Spring 2012   April Dinner Gathering /
Review&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Spring 2012   May Confirmation during
bishops visit (typically Mothers Day)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Summer 2012 PILGRIMAGE TRIP  
(Destination and Dates TBA)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;u&gt;If there are any Senior High members
that are interested in attending THIS year’s RADIX confirmation
retreat I would be willing to serve as the adult sponsor&lt;/u&gt;.  Dates
of the weekend are January 28&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; -30&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; with the
13&lt;sup&gt;th&lt;/sup&gt; being the deadline for registration.  Additional

&lt;p&gt;EYC kicked off December with a solid five hours of Merrymaking last week! Many thanks to the &lt;strong&gt;Manor House&lt;/strong&gt; group home, the &lt;strong&gt;Ritter, Krupnick&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;Asaad&lt;/strong&gt; families for hosting our group during the progressive dinner and to &lt;strong&gt;Tahani Sticpewich&lt;/strong&gt; and&lt;strong&gt; Frazier Worth&lt;/strong&gt; for their leadership with caroling.&amp;nbsp; And the &lt;strong&gt;Heilig&lt;/strong&gt; and &lt;strong&gt;Whortas&lt;/strong&gt; families for the extra sweets and eats!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Sunday School in the Warner Building this Sunday (next week I hope you can
 join us at 10:10am in the parish hall for the St. Nicholas 
Community Breakfast).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;For our afternoon activity, our group 
has reservations at the Asheville Community Theater to see&amp;nbsp; the 2:30pm 
production of "A Christmas Story".&amp;nbsp;The cost for EYC members will be 10$.
 Tickets are limited and&amp;nbsp;I would like to gear this event to our 6th -

&lt;div&gt;A huge &lt;u&gt;THANK YOU&lt;/u&gt; to The Stevenson 3
 for being a SUPER host family for last Sunday's Superbowl party! &amp;nbsp;Extra
 points go to Austen Metcaff for actually watching the whole game! &amp;nbsp;My 
personal highlights were the Darth Vader commercial, Jill's yummy 
football cake, &amp;nbsp;the Mac tutorial crash course and the &amp;nbsp;Wii groupies that
 spent most of the evening banging, clanging and "sanging" &amp;nbsp;in the 
living room to Beatles tunes.&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Also some gratitude to Elizabeth Douglas for joining us Sunday Morning to share her stories and photos from her experience with HEIFER INTERNATIONAL in Honduras.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;

event if for all current acolytes and for any new recruits to the

serve as ushers, greeters and readers.&amp;nbsp; The training begins at 1pm and 
includes lunch.&amp;nbsp; ALL youth who attend the training event are invited to 
an EYC L.E.M ( Lay Eucharistic Ministry) outing that will take place at 
FUN DEPOT!&amp;nbsp; We have been offered an awesome group rate on a package&amp;nbsp;that
 includes 2 hours of play time and 4 special attractions for a cost of

&lt;p&gt;Hello Episcopal Youth Community,&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Our Episcopal group&amp;nbsp; of 17 will include youth and adults from Trinity, 
St. Matthias and Asheville.&amp;nbsp;Once we are at the site we will join forces 
with other&amp;nbsp;youth groups from various churches and&amp;nbsp;live together for the 
week as a community of 80 or so new friends.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A typical day at a &lt;strong&gt;YOUTHWORKS!&lt;/strong&gt;
 site&amp;nbsp;entails devotions, shared help in meal preparation and clean up, 
going out into the community for service projects, returning for showers
 and dinner, evening outings to area attractions, evening program time, 
and small group time w/ your home church. One of our&amp;nbsp;outings will include
 a visit to the Civil Rights Museum.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;So far the EYC crew from ALL SOULS includes: Alex Melton, Anne 
Worth, Joseph Allensworth, and Andrew Fairbanks.&amp;nbsp; I currently have 2 
spots available and would LOVE to have some more of the A.S.Cathedral 
youth on board.&amp;nbsp;&lt;em&gt;&lt;u&gt; I will only be able to 
hold these spaces for 10 more days&lt;/u&gt;&lt;/em&gt; and then we will have
 to open them up to the youth at Trinity and St. Matthias.&amp;nbsp;The trip is 
open to anyone who is a rising 6th thru 9th grade student.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Cost for the trip is about &lt;strong&gt;300$&lt;/strong&gt;
 which includes a 250$ tuition fee and 50$ toward travel expenses.&amp;nbsp; Our 
plan is to have families contribute 1/3, EYC budget sponsor 1/3 and to 
RAISE the other&amp;nbsp;third by having each participant sell 
"SHARES".&amp;nbsp;Share&amp;nbsp;holders will receive an invitation to&amp;nbsp;our dinner 
presentation that will take place on Sunday, August 29th.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Hello EYC!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;Wow! More SNOW! Just think about how good the skiing is going to be next Sunday at Cataloochee.....right?!!!&amp;nbsp; As for this &lt;strong&gt;Sunday 14th&lt;/strong&gt;
the Sunday School line up is AK &amp;amp; J with middle school &amp;amp; Maggie
with Senior High. Our EYC activity for this week will be the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper!
We have a great team of parent volunteers who will be assisting the EYC
in hosting this fund raiser for Summer Missions.&amp;nbsp; Youth volunteers are needed&amp;nbsp;as
cooks, servers, greeters, and clean up. The early shift will work from
4 or 4:30 until 6pm&amp;nbsp;and the late shift will work from 6pm till 7:15ish.
We will be featuring a &lt;strong&gt;short slide show&lt;/strong&gt; of last years mission&amp;nbsp;trip to Savannah GA with YOUTHWORKS! And we will also have some &lt;strong&gt;live music&lt;/strong&gt;
at this years event!&amp;nbsp; Hope the weather holds out for us and that it
will be a fun fundraiser for our EYC! If you want to invite friends and
family, the actual event takes place &lt;strong&gt;5:30-7 and cost is 5$.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/div&gt;
&lt;div&gt;&lt;strong&gt;P.S. We are still in need of 2 or 3 more pancake griddles. Contact Kim Miller if you can bring one to the event.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
