St. Francis of Assisi's feast day was the annual Blessing of the Animals. Animals of all sorts brought their keepers to All Souls for a blessing. All were on purrfect behavior and all had a growling good time. See if you can find your pet. Photos by Tom Crook

EYC at Veterans' Shelter

September 13, 2009

Our small but mighty EYC crew arrived at 4:30pm and somehow managed to whip up a meal of porkchops, mac and cheese and veggies to feed 150 by 6! In addition the veterans were treated to some "improv Jazz tunes" with Andrew Stevenson on piano. Thanks to Electa Smith and Marth Neblet for the homemade pound cakes and to Amy Ray and Jill Stevenson for the cookies and brownies.

Shrove Tuesday

The eve of Ash Wednesday is also called Fat Tuesday, and in some cities is a big carnival event. Many churches mark the occasion with a pancake supper. At All Souls we also burn the palms to prepare ashes for Ash Wednesday. We are preparing for Lent. Photos by Tom Crook.

The All Souls 5k Cross Country Race at Christ School was a fun, healthy day for everyone able to attend. About 100 runners helped raise money for the All Souls Youth Pilgrimage next summer.
