Rev. Jo Bailey Wells - Zabriskie lecture Oct. 18

The Rev. Jo Bailey Wells, professor of Old Testament, Biblical Theology and the Practice of Ministry, will be the featured speaker for the annual Zabriskie Lectures at the Cathedral of All Souls, Saturday, October 18 from 9:30–3:00 p.m. Registration begins at 9:30; the program will begin at 10:00.

Jo Bailey Wells teaches Old Testament and biblical theology, particularly in relation to its contemporary relevance for ministry. She also directs (and teaches in) Anglican Studies. The Anglican Episcopal House of Studies is designed to meet both academic and formational interests of the growing number of Anglicans and Episcopalians who come to study at Duke. Her books include God's Holy People: A Theme in Biblical Theology (Sheffield, 2000) and Isaiah in the People's Bible Commentary series (BRF, 2006). She also enjoys devotional writing (for example, with Scripture Union, the College of Preachers and The Church Times), seeking to bring the fruits of biblical scholarship to a wider audience within the Church.
