The Properties Commission is currently forming a team of parishioners to care for the lawn and out- door areas of the cathedral. The plan is for this group to rotate lawn mowing responsibilities along with some trimming, edging, raking, etc.

We hope to raise as many as 18-20 people who will organize in teams of 2-3 and have one week out of every five or six weeks when they will work on the lawn. Approximately three hours of work time is expected.

The Sexton position, ably filled by Louis Krauss, is responsible for “both sides of the street” and the cleaning of the buildings, setting up for meetings, cleaning up after them, operating the kitchen equipment, cleaning restrooms, and cleaning the interior of the church—all a huge job.

If our Outdoor Team can relieve the sexton of the hours of cutting, etc., then he can concentrate on the all important cleaning job. If you are interested in knowing more about this volunteer role, please contact Cindy in the office, or Mike Stevenson at 254-5227, or Eric Ordnung at 252-2708.
