EYC is a program for youth in grades 6-12. Generally, we meet on Sunday afternoons throughout the school year with periodic larger events.

We strive to create a fun, safe, creative environment where our youth can explore their spirituality, create and deepen friendships, and learn the importance of service to others.

For example, last year we went on an overnight caving trip, tried out rock climbing, cooked meals at a women’s shelter, staffed a food booth at an Earth Day celebration.

We attended conferences with other youth from Western North Carolina, spent a week at Heifer Ranch in an experimental learning program that addressed issues surrounding global poverty.

Our group also joined in a peace pilgrimage which traveled throughout the Southeast to study non-violence as a means of affecting change.
