"..whose life is formed by… our engagement with the world about us." Monastics understand that theirs is not a vocation of avoiding God's world, but one where relationship to God was found and formed in engagement with all of the created order. 'Engagement' with the world about us' has been an integral and vital 'voice of God' for this community. Through our Involvement with issues including public education of children and adults, physical and mental health, economic participation of all citizens, the environment, homelessness and violence, God has revealed to us more deeply our inherent connection with all persons.
