In a meeting on October 25, a dozen folks gathered to share ideas about making our parish “Earth” friendly.  We learned about the history of Earth Day Celebration at All Souls and the efforts that we put into that one-day Celebration in April.  We agreed not to hold an Earth Day Celebration with Asheville Greenworks so that we can take that same enthusiasm and move us into a broader, parish-wide and even Diocese-wide awareness. 

In addition to practical changes we may be proposing, we discussed several educational-style events.  This might include collaborating with NC Interfaith Power and Light or sharing a video of the Bishop of Alaska whose own environmental journey is theologically inspired.  We filled the room with buzzing chatter while sharing possibilities (spiritual, educational and practical) about changing and evolving goals for our committee.
