Getting Married at All Souls

Christian marriage is a solemn and public covenant in the presence of God.

Requirements for marriage at the Cathedral of All Souls

Members of All Souls

Please contact one of the staff clergy to set up pre-marital sessions.  Requests must be made at least 60 days before a desired wedding date.  After contacting the clergy, please contact the Administrator who will put a tentative date for the marriage on the parish calendar and send you a wedding guideline booklet.  The priest will confirm dates for the wedding with the Administrator only after having met personally with the couple to be married.

Non-Members of All Souls

Only persons who are active members of an Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Western North Carolina may request a date for marriage at the Cathedral.  Requests must be made by the rector of the church in which the person is an active member.  Requests are made to the Dean of the Cathedral.  There are no exceptions to this procedure.  The requesting rector is responsible for all pre-marital counseling and any remarriage requests to the Bishop of Western North Carolina that may be needed.  After receiving the request of the rector, the Dean will ask the Administrator to send a wedding guideline booklet to the persons being married.  The rector of the persons being married will lead the rehearsal with a member of the All Souls Wedding Guild.
