Genia Dowdeswell came to All Souls in September of 2004. She had been a deacon at St. James, Hendersonville for 14 years. She was recruited by the Dean to work specifically on creating The Centers for Christian Studies. She now works with Charlotte Cleghorn in continuing to develop the “Centers". Their mission is to “Inspire and Equip Episcopalians to live out the vows of the Baptismal Covenant”. Come visit us at our website, www.centersforchristianstudies.org and check out the offerings.

She was appointed by the Bishop in April 2005 as Archdeacon for the diocese to assist him in ministry with the 35 active deacons in the diocese.

She is married with two grown children and is the proud grandmother of three. She is an avid reader, plays “at” golf and kayaks. She and her husband love spending time at their beach house and on their boat.
