Brian Cole has served as Sub-Dean at All Souls since March, 2005. Before that, Brian served as Vicar of Church of the Advocate, a homeless worshipping community in downtown Asheville and assisted at All Souls, too. Brian was ordained to the priesthood at All Souls in December of 2002.

Brian is a native of Missouri (the southern part) and graduated from Murray State University (Murray, Kentucky) with a degree in business administration. Brian is a graduate of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and did additional study at the School of Theology at Sewanee. Prior to serving at All Souls, Brian taught in the religion department at Warren Wilson College and served on the program staff of the Appalachian Ministries Educational Resource Center in Berea, Kentucky.  In 2009, Rev. Cole was nominated by Bishop Porter Taylor, to the Executive Council of the national Episcopal Church.

Brian is married to Susan Parker Weatherford and they live in Black Mountain. Brian's son, Jess, is 11 years old. Brian enjoys bookstores, trail running, Elvis, and going to movies. Brian is an associate of the Order of the Holy Cross.
