Shawna Gilmore joined the staff at the Cathedral in Aug 06 as the part-time Assistant for Youth Formation. She has a combined total of over 10 years of work with youth and their families in various settings that include; therapeutic wilderness programs, camps, run-a-way shelters, case management and community support services. Previous ministry experience includes six years of service as youth minister at St. James Episcopal, Black Mountain.

Shawna graduated from Hope College in Holland Michigan and has a degree in social work and psychology. She is a member of the Order of St. Luke healing ministry and is currently taking year two of EFM (Equipment for Ministry). Shawn and her son Eli live in Weaverville. She enjoys dancing, gardening and travel.
