The All Souls’ community is fortunate to welcome Micki Hill to the Cathedral staff.  Micki is a trained catechist and member of the National Association of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS). She has completed extensive training in all 3 levels of Catechesis and regularly participates in CGS workshops across the country. Micki has served in the area of formation ministry in the Episcopal Church for over 20 years, focusing especially on scripture and liturgy. She is a passionate lay minister and advocate for children in the church. As a member and chair of Lifelong Formation for the Diocese of Western North Carolina, she has worked with vestry, clergy and education teams focusing on creating environments that welcome children.

Micki is a native North Carolinian, who grew up in Charlotte. She had a career as a landscape designer before parenting and homeschooling took-over but has not gotten over the urge to plant a garden. Micki is married to a funny guy named Leon. Refusing to ‘empty the nest’ when their daughter left for college, they share life with 2 dogs, 2 cats and 5 goats on 5 acres in Horse Shoe. They often spend Saturdays cleaning the barn, mowing the grass or mending fences. Micki has yet to meet a bookstore she didn’t love and never allows her bookshelves to remain empty.
