Getting Married at All Souls
There are three ways in which persons may inquire about being married at All Souls:
For Members of All Souls:
Please contact one of the staff clergy to set up pre-marital sessions. Requests must be made at least 90 days before a desired wedding date. After contacting the clergy, please contact the cathedral Administrator who will put a tentative date for the marriage on the parish calendar. A wedding guideline booklet may be found by clicking the link below. Included in the booklet is an agreement form for you to sign and return to the Administrator. Your date will be confirmed once we have received: 1) the signed wedding agreement found in the wedding booklet; 2) the priest’s consent to the wedding as described in the wedding booklet.
For Active Episcopalians in the Diocese of Western North Carolina:
Requests to have a marriage at All Souls must be made by the rector of the church in which the person(s) desiring to be married is an active member. Requests are made by the rector in writing to the Dean of the Cathedral. There are no exceptions to this procedure. The requesting rector is responsible for all pre-marital counseling and any necessary remarriage requests to the Bishop of Western North Carolina. You will find a click link to a PDF for the Active Parishioners of Episcopal Churches in the Diocese of Western North Carolina. Dates for the wedding will be confirmed once we have received: 1) the written request of the rector making request; 2) the signed agreement form included in the wedding guideline booklet; 3) approval from the Dean. The rector of the persons being married will lead the rehearsal with a member of the All Souls Wedding Guild.
For Persons Other Than Members of All Souls or Active Episcopalians in Western North Carolina:
