Kairos West Community Center aspires to be a sacred space in a secular world, accessible to all and set apart for community building and for the empowerment of emerging leadership through art, liturgy, and social service in the spirit and educational methodology of Jesus of Nazareth.
Kairos West Community Center is located at 610 Haywood Rd in West Asheville underneath Firestorm Books & Coffee.
Common worship is often private and can leave people with a sense of isolation. Churches may have programs that extend beyond our parishes out into the community, but how do we foster those programs to build real relationships? Community space that is dedicated to, and steeped in relationship and community building, offers an extension of the Church that is visible and practical. Kairos West is the Church in the world.
is based on relationship
- relationships with community members who gather together in a place that is owned by many and open to all.
WHY WEST ASHEVILLE?
Haywood road is a rapidly growing business district. As the local economy and residential population increase, creating a space that is open to all and invested in radical welcome keeps the needs of those without purchasing power in the fabric of the community. The time to claim that space is now while the creative energy is abundant.
WHAT WILL IT TAKE?
In order for Kairos West to be effective and sustainable, we need the skills, talents, and resources of those who feel connected to this vision. Please consider supporting this new initiative.
