Holy Week Services

 

April 3 –Good Friday Liturgy:  Noon

 

Meditation on the Passion and Tenebrae:  7:30 p.m.

 

April 4 – The Great Vigil of Easter and Vigil Feast:  8:00 p.m.

 

April 5 – Easter Day:  7:00, 9:00*, 11:15*

 

*denotes that incense will be used

 

 

Psyanky at All Souls led by Kim Miller. Saturday, April 4th from 1 – 4pm. $10.00 per person. Kim provides all materials necessary to make one egg.  Psyanky is the art of “writing” on eggs with wax and dye and is a 3000 year old tradition in the Ukraine. Common Threads will meet Thursday, April 9, from 10 to 2 in Zabriskie Hall. We will be making sleeping bags for Church of the Advocate, a project that requires no special skills but has very special benefits for the homeless recipients. Newcomers and visitors are welcome to come for the day or just stop in to see what we’re up to. You need only to bring your lunch and your enthusiasm. Questions? The Daughters of the King will meet Sunday, April 12, at 10:15 a.m. in the CE room.  All Daughters and those interested in becoming Daughters are invited to attend.

 

Service of Healing and Holy Eucharist Thursday, April 23, 7 p.m. Please join us for a Service of Healing and Holy Eucharist on Thursday, April 23, at 7 p.m. in the church. This contemplative service offers an opportunity to be still and to be refreshed. Anointing and the laying on of hands for healing are offered.  Charlotte Cleghorn and Thomas Murphy are presiders. Music is offered by Karen Turner and Jacque Combs.

AmiciMusic returns to All Soul‘s Cathedral on Friday, April 24 at 7:30PM with a beautiful chamber music program called “QUINTESSENCE” featuring music for piano with wind quartet by Mozart, Beethoven, and Vollbach. Pianist and Artistic Director Daniel Weiser will be joined by members of the new Asheville Wind Quintet, including Steve Loew, clarinet; Carlton Alexander, oboe; Hobart Whitman, French Horn; and Leslie Reim Zarnowski, bassoon.
