All Souls holds a set of Newcomers Classes twice a year, which are our way of welcoming new and existing folks alike and giving an introduction to the life of All Souls. Those who wish to attend are encouraged to come to as many as possible, but it’s okay if you miss a few! This batch of sessions runs from November 5 through December 10, taking a day off for the weekend after Thanksgiving (November 26).
The sessions take place in Owen Library, which is on the walkway between our church and the parish hall. If you get lost, look for the signs or ask a priest for directions.
Led by Rev. Canon Thomas Murphy and parishioner Helene Heilig and visited by members in leadership positions throughout the life of the parish, each six-week session reveals the ways that All Souls is connected to the larger Church—the Anglican Communion, the Episcopal Diocese of Western North Carolina, and the whole family of God. These connections are ones which help us reach beyond ourselves, both around the globe and back into the treasures of church history.
